Design Process
Our team of skilled engineers leverage cutting-edge geometry and advanced manufacturing techniques to craft bolt-on, factory-replacement parts that elevate your vehicle's handling, performance, and reliability.
Once prototypes are manufactured, they undergo rigorous testing at UMI Performance’s state-of-the-art Race Shop—a 20,000-square-foot facility fully equipped for testing and fabrication. Here, these prototypes are installed on designated platforms from our Team UMI fleet of cars and trucks. They are then put through their paces in real-world racing scenarios, whether in competitive environments or at our dedicated UMI Motorsports Park.
This comprehensive race testing process not only allows us to fine-tune each design but also helps us identify the optimal product pairings for our kits and tailor recommendations for our customers. Our commitment to excellence doesn't stop at production; we continuously gather product feedback and refine our offerings to align with the latest manufacturing technologies and evolving racing demands.

Originally established as UMI Performance’s official testing site, our park has gained a stellar reputation in its own right, becoming a destination for automotive enthusiasts across the nation.
At the heart of our offerings are the legendary UMI-hosted autocross events that draw thrill-seekers and spectators alike. Chief among these is the renowned King of the Mountain—an exclusive, invite-only autocross event that stands as the pinnacle of competitive driving. Each year, this prestigious competition lights up Clearfield, PA, bringing together the fastest drivers from across the country.
Earning an invitation to King of the Mountain is a testament to exceptional skill and speed. Competitors can secure their spot by excelling in the previous year’s shootout or by triumphing at other celebrated UMI events like the Autocross Challenge or Muscle on the Mountain.

UMI Performance: A Legacy of Precision and Innovation
Born from the expertise of Utmost Machine Incorporated, UMI Performance has evolved from a humble subdivision into a powerhouse in the automotive performance industry. Initially, during lulls between industrial projects, we crafted parts for the Mustang Fox body and GM 4th Gen platforms, selling directly to consumers online and at prominent trade shows.
As global market dynamics shifted, with many industrial companies moving operations overseas, Utmost Machine Incorporated pivoted to focus on our burgeoning performance division. By 2003, this strategic shift had transformed UMI Performance into the core of our operations.
Our journey reached a significant milestone in 2011 when we relocated to a state-of-the-art facility in Philipsburg, PA. This new home provided ample space for manufacturing, testing, and fabrication—allowing us to expand our product line and continue pushing the boundaries of automotive innovation.
In 2017, we took another bold step forward by acquiring the historic Clearfield Mountain Speedway. Renamed UMI Motorsports Park, it serves as our official testing ground and hosts some of the nation’s most prestigious autocross events. This acquisition underscores our commitment to excellence and community engagement within the motorsports arena.
