Wagon of Wonder:

Scott Buchholz's 'Maliblu' Malibu Takes Center Stage at UMI Muscle on the Mountain

It’s almost guaranteed you’ll see many cool Camaros and Corvettes among the muscle cars when you attend an autocross event. At this years UMI Muscle on the Mountain event, held at UMI Motorsports Park, another model stood out. Scott Buchholz’s build was the only wagon at the event and he made it count. His 1983 Chevrolet Malibu Wagon, dubbed the “maliblu” wagon for its ocean-like color, caught our attention not only for its uniqueness, but also for the amount of UMI Products!

Scott’s wagon excels in the handling department. UMI Cornermax arms guarantee a solid contact patch with camber gain and increased caster. The 1.250” front bar from UMI ensures stability, while the front and rear bracing eliminates flex in the GM Metric chassis. Adjustable upper and lower trailing arms support the 9” rear end from Quick Performance. Scott opted for a 3.70 ratio with a Truetrac.. The LS1 engine delivers power, while the Z06 brakes provide excellent stopping power, completing a highly impressive and capable package.
