The Roto-Joint is a specially designed component intended to replace spherical rod ends on UMI Performance panhard bars for the 1982-2002 Camaro/Firebird and 2005-Present Ford Mustang. It can also be used with other brands of panhard bars for these vehicles that utilize a ¾”-16 right-hand threaded rod end. Installation of the bushing end is straightforward; simply remove the old rod end and screw in the Roto-Joint assembly. This is an excellent solution for replacing worn rod ends that may be causing noise.
The Roto-Joint comes fully assembled with a grease fitting, a new jam nut, and a clear zinc finish. It features a bushing width of 1.875”, 3/4”-16 right-hand threads, 2.000” of thread adjustment, and accepts a 14mm bolt. The threads are CNC machined from 4140 chrome moly steel, DOM tubing, and TIG welded for enhanced strength and durability.
The spanner wrench is designed for adjusting and disassembling Roto-Joints in UMI Performance products. It can be used to tighten the adjusting ring for additional pressure on the Delrin race inside the Roto-Joint or to disassemble the Roto-Joint for cleaning, inspection, and rebuilding.
The Roto-Joint technology allows for 28 degrees of total rotation and unrestricted movement within the vehicle's suspension. It combines the benefits of a spherical rod end with the versatility of a softer bushing, articulating to prevent suspension bind, improve traction, and reduce wheel hop.
Its construction features a 4140 chrome moly, hard chrome plated spherical ball rotating in a Delrin race, which provides high wear resistance and maintains its physical properties. The housing is made with 4140 chrome moly threads and a CNC machined bushing holder, TIG welded for strength and durability. The Roto-Joint is adjustable and 100% rebuildable, with the Delrin race easily replaceable if necessary.
