2236 – 1982-2002 GM F-Body Weld In Torque Arm Crossmember, Straight

UMI's 2236 weld-in torque arm is designed for 3rd and 4th Gen F-body vehicles, providing UMI quality and performance. The shortened length improves instant center, reduces 60 ft times, and enhances forward traction. The adjustable pinion angle ensures a vibration-free driveline at any ride height, while the straight front design of the crossmember clears tight header/y-pipe setups.

Installation requires welding and cutting, and the torque arm must be used with 2-point subframe connectors. Benefits include removing torque from the transmission tail shaft, eliminating wheel hop, on-car pinion angle adjustments, reduced road noise with polyurethane bushings, and a greaseable pivot point at the front mounting.

Constructed of 1.250” x 0.120” DOM steel tubing, with a 1.500” x 0.120” DOM steel tubing crossmember. TIG Welded 4140 chromoly tube adapters and on-car adjuster built using 4140 chromoly steel. Polyurethane bushings are greaseable for prolonged life, with laser-cut plates for accuracy and 0.375” thick rear mounting plates. Fits stock rear end, 12-Bolt, 9”, and S60 Rear-End Housings with red or black powder coat finish.

The Chromoly version uses 1.250" x 0.095" 4130 Chromoly steel for increased strength and reduced weight, recommended for faster vehicles in the ¼ mile.

UMI also offers rear torque arm hardware kits for various rear axle housings such as factory, Strange, Moser 9”, and others. Different kit options available depending on rear axle housing type.
